SL-170

Description

SL-170 is superior, multipurpose Lithium Complex grease specially developed to extend the performance life for automotive and industrial applications. It has been tested to give optimum results over extended periods especially under difficult operating conditions.

Application
SL-170 is recommended for most industrial machineries, rolling element bearings in steel mills, quarry, marine, agricultural, mining, construction machinery, conveyors, elevators, chains, pulleys, shafts, automotive applications etc.

Characteristics
The lubricating ability of SL-170 is formulated from highly refined, high VI base oil and complex thickening agent which resists melting and leakage from bearings operating at very high temperature. A special inhibitor package has been added to protect metal parts from rust, oxidation and corrosion. It is compatible with most conventional greases.
SL-170 is fortified with extreme pressure additive particularly for lubrication points exposed to high pressure and impact loads as well as high temperature. The SL-170 chemical reaction will form a film strength/sealant property to prevent metal to metal contact.
SL-170 is fortified with EXTRA extreme pressure, anti wear, anti corrosion and water wash out additive to suit critical lubrication needs.

Methods of applications
Whenever two greases with different thickener systems are mixed in service, there is a possibility of incompatibility resulting in poor performance. As such, it is always preferable and advisable to clean the old grease from the bearing prior to using SL-170. After bearing surfaces are cleaned, they should be lubricated/wiped with SL-170 and properly stored to prevent corrosion. Chlorinated solvents should not be used because they can leave chlorine, which can cause corrosion. Proper lubrication is achieved by using the correct amount of grease. Too little grease in the bearing causes premature failure.

Usable temperature range for continuous service is -20°C to 166°C (-4°F to 330°F). With frequent relubrication up to 232°C (450°F).
