Description
SL-130 is a smooth gel – like appearance high temperature aluminum complex grease that has excellent shear stability, goof pumpability and has superior resistance to water wash-out. This complex grease is very stable in terms of oxidation offering an extended working life even operating under high temperature and in wet conditions.
Application
SL-130 aluminum complex grease is particularly suited for high temperature and high pressure applications in aggressive working environments such as steel rolling mills e.g. roll neck, rolling and plain bearings in paper mills, offshore drilling, mining operations and other applications that requires good pumpability performance and water wash-out stability.
Characteristics
The lubricating ability of SL-130 is formulated from highly refined base oil and special complex thickening agent and additives package to provide maximum protection for your applications.
Methods of applications
Whenever two grease with different thickener system are mixed in service, there is a possibility of incompatibility resulting in poor performance. As such, it is always preferable and advisable to clean the old grease from the bearing prior to using SL-130. After bearing surfaces are cleaned, they should be lubricated/wiped with SL-130 and properly stored to prevent corrosion. Chlorinated solvents should not be used because they can leave chlorine, which can cause corrosion. Proper lubrication is achieved by using the correct amount of grease. Too little grease in the bearing causes premature failure.
Usable temperature range for continuous service is -20°C to 177°C (-4°F to 350°F). With frequent relubrication up to 232°C (450°F).
