Description

SL-110 Silica grease represents a state-of-the art-blend, formulated for critical high temperature performance. This grease has high tolerance for radiation, it provides a long service life in a broad range if applications.

Application
SL-110 Silica grease is highly recommended for use in ovens, hot air exhaust fans, open gear drives, dryers, overhead trolley bearings, electric motors etc. and on other severe operations. It is also suitable for use in lubricating rolling-element bearings in nuclear power plants.

Characteristic
SL-110 Silica grease is made using a non melting thickener and high viscosity index oil which can boost the temperature capability of the grease to an upper limit determined by the evaporation/breakdown temperature of the oil.
It can withstand up to 399°C (750°F) and higher temperatures for brief periods. With replenishment/ relubrication, it can last longer.

Methods of applications
Before adding SL-110 Silica grease to a bearing, the bearing should be purged of all existing grease, oil, or preservative oils used to protect it during storage. If left in bearing, these hydrocarbon oils can form carbon deposits at higher temperatures, which may accelerate bearing failure.
Proper lubrication is achieved by using the correct amount of grease. Because of the highly adhesive and thixotropic nature of SL-110 Silica, precautions must be taken NOT to “over-lubricate” bearings. It is advisable to inspect during use to determine re-lubricate cycle.

Usable temperature range for continuous service is -20°C to 180°C (-4°F to 356°F). With frequent relubrication up to 399°C (750°F).
