SL-109

Description

SL-109 is a smooth texture, superior quality, multi-purpose high temperature grease designed to withstand high temperature/ heavy loads for good performance in automotive and industrial lubrication applications. It has good metal adhesiveness (“tackiness”) and high water tolerance; it is not leached out of the grease by water and absorbed water does not affect consistency.
An important property of SL-109 is that they do not melt allowing particular applications in steel mills, cement plants, glass plants or where high temperature are likely. This high performance grease offer exceptional performance to the user and satisfy multiple equipment applicants.

Application
SL-109 is recommended for all industrial and automotive machineries, construction applications, electric motor, bearings and gears, heavy loaded applications, steel mills, aircraft, etc.

Characteristics
The lubricating ability of SL-109 was made from a high quality base oil, thickener and additives. Special thickener formulations have been blended to give useful lubricant greater than 260°C° (500°F).

Methods of applications
Before adding SL-109 to a bearing, the bearing should be purged of all existing grease, oil, or preservative oils used to protect it during storage. If left in bearing, these hydrocarbon oils can form carbon deposits at higher temperature, which may accelerate bearing failure.
After bearing surface is cleaned, they should be lubricated/wiped with SL-109 and properly stored to prevent corrosion. Chlorinated solvents should not be used because they can leave chlorine, which can cause corrosion.
Proper lubrication is achieved by using the correct amount of grease. Too little grease in the bearing causes premature failure.

Usable temperature range for continuous service is -20°C to 149°C (-4°F to 300°F). With frequent relubrication up to 260°C (500°F).
